The Colt was originally made by Breitling in the 1980s, and was intended for use by the armed forces (as were its older brothers, the Navitimer and the Chronomat, incidentally). This watch is an excellent example of a military-styled Colt—a watch that has since become one of Breitling's most popular and accessible pieces thanks to its great legibility and sturdiness. This is a beautifully finished piece, with a shot-blasted case, flat dial and large, luminous numerals. The superbly designed quartz movement was one of the most accurate for the time, and remains a great timekeeper.
